The Turning is a 30-day residential yoga and life challenge for people at a point of transition—those who want to pursue yoga professionally, young people in their 20s and 30s exploring different directions in life, or anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or dissatisfied with their current way of living and is willing to take a serious bet on changing it. Set in the Himalayas, the programme combines intensive yoga and physical training with sustained work on mental and behavioural patterns, study, reflection, and community living. Participants who complete the programme receive a Ministry of AYUSH certification, enabling them to pursue yoga teaching professionally in their respective home cities.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRACTICE

Tarun Sharma

Tarun Sharma

Leaving banking in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, Tarun changed the course of his life through yoga. He studied and practised across different schools of Indian yoga and philosophy, including the Bihar School of Yoga and Iyengar Yoga, among others. He began teaching in small batches in Goa, gradually developing his own approach to practice and teaching. A few years ago, he returned to his native place and built a modern retreat centre and teacher-training school from the ground up. The centre brings together residential facilities, a kitchen garden, therapeutic massage, a dedicated healing space and an environment designed to support sustained practice and learning.

For 30 days, participants live at Saptrashmi in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, within walking distance of the Neugal River. Mornings begin with practice; the days move through study, physical training, shared meals and seva; evenings are quiet. Simple living, mountain air, the river and a shared daily rhythm create the conditions for sustained practice and attention.

The team takes care of your stay and meals. Your responsibility is to show up diligently for the practice.
